James Cameron's Avatar

Avatar is a sci-fi movie directed by James Cameron, the same brain behind The Terminator, Aliens, and Titanic.

The movie was put into delay for more than 10 years. And now, it is the most expensive movie ever made, with a budget of $237 million in production.

I'm gonna make this very short and simple: This movie is no doubt the prime candidate for the "Movie of the Year".

With that said, it is highly recommended for everyone. So I won't say any more stuff. You just have to watch it yourself to believe it.

So let's just get to the media I want to share with you (may contain spoiler, proceed with caution).

"I See You", the theme song for the movie, performed by Leona Lewis:

The official game, taking place before the movie:

The Making of Avatar:
*SPOILER WARNING!* Only watch this after you watched the movie.

Find out why the movie had us waiting for more than 10 years:

More on the story, the effect, and find out how the actors learn how to fly:

More footage on how the performance capture is done:

James Cameron explains how the team created the Pandora:

The team talked about the human technology in the movie:

Doing Less, and Less

No matter how little I do, I always feel I could do less.

FYP progress (my part) very slow.

Revision also very slow.

Cyril vs. Snake

Cyril Takayama playing Metal Gear Solid 4, his way.

Put 2 of the best together, and you got yourself an awesomeness like no other.

Wonder what Kojima would feel about Cyril changing his game.

你的歌 - 陶喆

Another nice song from David Tao. Currently addicted.

Still your song

SixthSense: A Look Into the Future and Possibilities

If you already watched the SixthSense debut, then no further introduction is needed.

Just watch the video below and be impressed.

Speech given by the genius himself:

Turning a piece of paper into a digital device, and switching between physical world and digital world in real-time. Simply amazing. If you're interested to construct your own SixthSense then look forward to the open-source announcement.

First Time to Jalan Pasar

Went to Jalan Pasar for the first time last week to get the components for my FYP.

People call it an "Electronic Paradise" because you can basically get everything you need from here to build something as simple as a small circuit, or as complicated as a pair robot legs.

Library-ing with Interesting Dinner

Last week would be quite busy for most of us.

FYP title registration was settled. So I spent some times in the library looking for information and doing some research, together with some friends.

And FB-ing while taking a break to relax a bit.

And on that very boring weekend, came an interesting YM conversation between me, JJ, Harry, David, and Karen:

JJ: David asks for dinner at 7pm. Interesting to join?
(It should be "Interested to join?" due to typo)

Me: How I know interesting or not? Got what so interesting?

Me: BUZZ Karen. David asks for dinner at 7pm.

Karen: Ki siao ar? I'm sitting beside you!!

Me: We cannot talk in library.

Karen: Sampat.

JJ: Got rice, mee, meat, fish, chicken and others. Interesting?

Me: Oh. Ok, can.

Karen: Walau, you all hor~

Harry: ........................

Karen: I on.

Me: Very interesting hor?

Karen: Ya, it's so inter~resting~ what a wonder~ ful~ life!!! :-)

JJ: Haha...

Me: We go where eat?

JJ: Dengkil.

Me: Which restaurant?

David: Day Day Born.

Smart Hand: The Robot Hand with Feelings

You have seen the robot hand of speed. Now see this robot hand that can feel.

"A team of scientists from Italy and Sweden has developed what is believed to be the first artificial hand that has feeling. It has been attached to the arm of a 22-year-old man who lost his own hand through cancer. Researchers say it works by connecting human nerve endings with tiny electronic sensors."
